Amazon River

Our Work

Initial partnership work in the Amazon is focused on increasing the value of forested watersheds in the Amazonas State along the upper Juruá River. By strengthening forest products use, specifically Amazonian “super fruits,” through sound production practices, the partnership has the opportunity to help conserve local forests through the sustainable use of local natural resources in a way that improves the living conditions of forest dwellers. This focus will also help conserve aquatic ecosystems by creating more sustainable income opportunities for traditional communities in the project area, reducing the threat of deforestation and degradation of the watershed.
